Fashion Week After Party Kicks Off MCF Academy Fundraising!

MacDella and Korto

Thanks to the support of our wonderful guests and sponsors, we met our fundraising goal for February 20, 2009! Proceeds go toward the $500,000 needed to construct the MCF Academy, which will be the first tuition-free school in post-war Liberia, opening in 2010. Bo Dietl and Ceslie Armstrong hosted an inspiring auction, allowing all guests to pledge to build the MCF Academy by underwriting a range of financial commitments, including bricks, classrooms, dorms, supplies, and solar panels. Guests witnessed an exclusive preview of Project Runway finalist Korto Momolu's stunning Fall 2009 collection and the unveiling of the MCF Academy by world-renowned architect Winka Dubbeldam of NYC's Archi-Tectonics.

Our Mission and Vision

The MacDella Cooper Foundation (MCF) is a 501c3 international charitable organization devoted to empowering Liberian youth, especially orphans and abandoned children, by providing education and the basic necessities of food, clothing, and shelter. Our vision is to give as many Liberian children as possible the chance to escape the poverty cycle and grow in the nurturing environment of an MCF Academy, so that they can lead Liberia toward an economically strong and politically stable future.
